I’m Matthew Reilly, a licensed California health, life, and group insurance agent. Placer County stretches from Gold Rush-era Auburn to the business parks of Roseville and the shores of Lake Tahoe, and I help employers across it compare group health plans by phone, video, and text.

Placer County has about 405,000 residents. Its name comes from “placer” mining, the Gold Rush method of washing gravel to separate out the heavier gold. Auburn, the county seat, is a Gold Rush-era town, Roseville is the largest city and a major job and shopping center, and part of Lake Tahoe’s shoreline lies inside the county. Healthcare, rail, government, technology, and many small businesses employ people here, so group coverage questions come up for employers of every size. Provider networks vary by area, so always confirm your doctors and hospitals are in network.
🏢 What group health options exist for Placer County employers?Carrier Access
Employers in Placer County have access to the broader California small- and large-group market through the carrier network I work with through our vendor partners. Which carriers have active networks in your exact location depends on which hospital systems and medical groups your employees use — I confirm the real, current list for your ZIP code before you ever see a quote, rather than promising specific carrier names up front.
📋 Does group size work differently in Placer County than the rest of California?Group Size
No — the small group (1–50 employees) vs. large group (51+) split, participation minimums, and open enrollment timing are all set at the state and federal level, not the county level. What does change locally is which hospital systems and medical groups are strongest in your employees’ network. See the Coverage Guide for how group size and plan rules work statewide.
🤝 Do I need a local agent, or can you help from outside Placer County?Remote Access
I’m licensed to sell health and life insurance throughout California, and most of my clients handle everything by phone, text, and video — comparing options, signing paperwork, and getting enrolled without ever needing an in-person meeting. Placer County employers get the same attention and the same carrier access as my Orange County clients; I just handle it remotely instead of walking into your office.
