I’m Matthew Reilly, a licensed California health, life, and group insurance agent. Tulare County is one of the country’s big farm and dairy regions with the Sierra Nevada as its backdrop, and I help local employers compare group health plans.

Tulare County is named for Tulare Lake, which Spanish explorer Pedro Fages came upon in 1772 and called “Los Tules” for the rushes growing around it. Visalia is the county seat, dairy is the top farm product, oranges are a major crop, and Sequoia National Park, made a national park in 1890, lies in its eastern mountains. Farm and dairy employers often have seasonal teams, so confirm that your employees’ doctors and hospitals are in the plan’s network.
🏢 What group health options exist for Tulare County employers?Carrier Access
Employers in Tulare County have access to the broader California small- and large-group market through the carrier network I work with through our vendor partners. Which carriers have active networks in your exact location depends on which hospital systems and medical groups your employees use — I confirm the real, current list for your ZIP code before you ever see a quote, rather than promising specific carrier names up front.
📋 Does group size work differently in Tulare County than the rest of California?Group Size
No — the small group (1–50 employees) vs. large group (51+) split, participation minimums, and open enrollment timing are all set at the state and federal level, not the county level. What does change locally is which hospital systems and medical groups are strongest in your employees’ network. See the Coverage Guide for how group size and plan rules work statewide.
🤝 Do I need a local agent, or can you help from outside Tulare County?Remote Access
I’m licensed to sell health and life insurance throughout California, and most of my clients handle everything by phone, text, and video — comparing options, signing paperwork, and getting enrolled without ever needing an in-person meeting. Tulare County employers get the same attention and the same carrier access as my Orange County clients; I just handle it remotely instead of walking into your office.
